• Tigers are the largest of the four "big cats".
• Tigers reach up to 4 metres (13 feet) long and weigh up to 300 kilograms (660 lbs).
• Sadly tigers are quickly becoming extinct due to poaching for their fur and destruction of habitat. There are now thought to be between 2,500 and 7,000 tigers left in the wild.
